What’s New with Abu Garcia
Abu Garcia is a brand that always seems to have new products coming out and they constantly improve and revamp existing products. This year they have a little bit of both as they added a new budget reel to the popular Revo series as well as updating the Veritas rods. Here is what is new with Abu Garcia.

New Updated Veritas Fishing Rods
The popularity of the Veritas can be seen at boat ramps and on the water. The solid white rods are easy to spot and bass anglers love them. This year they updated the line to help with comfort, weight, and balance. They also added several models larger than eight-feet long for deep cranking and swimbaits.
The rods still have a 30-ton blank and they added a Sublayer Armor to increase strength and sensitivity. The reel seat has also been revamped and has a micro-click design to keep your rod and reel connected.

Revo Reel Redesign
The Revo baitcast reels got a major facelift and they also added the Revo X. The Premier, STX, SX, S, and Winch all look and feel different than you may be used to. Probably the biggest change is the braking system on some of the new Revos. Instead of just the magnetic braking, there is also an internal system to further refine your casting controls.
Revo Premier
The Premier is one of the highest priced Revo reels but it is also packed with performance. The reel has 10 bearings plus a roller bearing, Carbon Matrix Drag, carbon fiber handle and much more. It is also very lightweight at just 6.1 ounces.
The differences between this version and the previous editions are the color has changed to black and they have also incorporated oversized knobs and changed the frame as well. It is a more compact design and they also changed the configuration to make the spool farther from the line guide to help with casting distance and accuracy.

Revo STX
Like the Premier, the STX is a popular reel and Abu has incorporated some of the same features, such as the braking and more compact size. They have also increased the handle length for increased cranking power.

Revo SX
The Revo SX has both the internal and external braking system and has 24-pounds of drag. It also features a new, longer handle and oversized knobs for more power.

Revo S
The Revo S now comes with a longer handle and comfortable knobs. It also has 20-pounds of drag which is unheard of for a reel in this price range. The Revo S comes with a simple magnetic braking system for easy adjustments.

Revo Winch
This crankbait specialized reel has been a staple of bass anglers. It features a 5.4:1 gear ratio, C6 carbon sideplate and oversized EVA knobs for better power while cranking.

Revo Winch Spinning
Also new for this year is a spinning version of the Winch reel. Like the baitcast version, it features a slower gear ratio for more power. The spinning version has a 4.7:1 retrieve and is perfect for small crankbaits, swimbaits or spybaits that are best fished slowly.
It features eight stainless steel bearings and a roller bearing, Carbon Matrix drag, large knobs and an aluminum spool.

Revo X Baitcast
New to the Revo family is the Revo X. At just $99.99, it offers quality at a budget price. It has an alloy frame to keep it lightweight and the Carbon Matrix drag that Abu uses on their other Revo reels. It comes with 7 stainless steel ball bearings and a roller bearing.

Revo X Spinning
Like the baitcast version, the Revo X spinning reel has quality and features at a low price. It is lightweight and smooth, with a 6+1 bearing system and Carbon Matrix drag.
If you are familiar with the other Revo spinning reels, the Revo X has some of the same features that make them all great. The Rocket line management system and spool design for better casting and fewer tangles as well as their Everlast bail system that keeps the bail from getting damaged upon closing.

Abu Garcia Revo X Spinning and Casting Combos
The new Revo X reel is a budget reel with great features. They are also selling the reel as part of a combo to bring the price down even more, at just $149.99 for a combo, the quality and performance are there at a low price.
The rods that they pair with the reels are a quality 30-ton blank with stainless steel guide frames for extra durability. The combo looks great together and has high-density EVA grips and custom reel seat.

Abu Garcia has been busy and this year they have a whole host of new rods and reels that should excite bass anglers.
