ACORN Officials Videotaped Telling Prostitute how to Lie to IRS.
Gee, why can’t I find this story on CNN or ABC?
Everything surrounding Obama smells corrupt, how much more can this guy get away with?
I think I hear the fat lady is warming up.

Breaking news! ACCORN just fired the two employees caught on tape, what a curve ball!

By law I’m responsible for my employees actions, if only I could get away with firing a couple of them if something goes wrong.

I would hope that our left leaning friends on this forum do not come to ACORN's defense on this one. They have to understand why most Americans want to put a stop to government funding of these kinds radical organizations.

Where are our Liberal friends – they are not defending or protecting ACORN, could this be the reasons?

ACORN had 400,000 fraudulent Voter Registration in the 2008 Presidential election.
ACORN is under investigation in 14 States
ACORN has 50 fraud convections to date
ACORN had 30 individuals pleading guilty to fraud
To date ACORN has spent 53 Million of Tax payers dollars
In the stimulus bill ACORN gets 8.5 Billion of Tax payers dollars – is this a payoff?
Congressmen have called for 67 different investigations – the investigations have been call for by (D) = 0, by (R) 67 – is this a payoff?

ACORN is the old stomping ground for Obama, did he change his ways or what?

One Good thing – The Census Director has sent a letter to the National Headquarters of ACORN notifying the group that the Census Bureau is severing all ties with the community organizing group for all work having to do with the 2010 census.

AND NO ONE IS INVESTIGATING THIS. BUT THE MEDIA IS ALL OVER THE INVESTIGATION OF THE CIA BUT NOT THIS!!!!! WHAT!!! where is this country going. I know there is media bias but this unbelievable. not one major news network is covering this besides fox and CNN twice. twice. IS THIS LESS IMPORTANT THAT WILDFIRES!!!!!! BECAUSE I DONT THINK SO

Uh this might come as a shock to someone who eats sleeps and drinks the party line, but not all democrats, independents and liberals actually agree with fringe factions like ACORN, PETA, etc..
I'm sure it's difficult to comprehend such a division, but I think it demonstrates what is lacking in the republican side, where any deviation from their religion is not tolerated.

I can tell you this, I don't know where you got your 8.5 billion?? In ACORNS history they have never received even 10% of that number, probably 1-3% of that would be closer to the facts. Not only that they have never received a dime for voter registration, and the tax monies they do receive from the feds comes through a competitive bid process with pretty strict controls. This isn't a defense for them, I just am surprised by some of the facts people use that aren't very factual.

I find it hard to trust any of these groups, and not just limited to ACORN but some of the Faith-Based groups as well who supposedly perform family services and counseling. You can join a church and get that for the price of a tithe if thats what you want to do.

Marty,

That explains $9.8 million. I still don't see where you get $8.5 BILLION given to ACORN.

Smitty, it is in the stimulus package as "Delta is beast" and also I got that from my right wing shows - they are the only ones that have read the stimulus package.

NOT TRUE!

again the stimulas plan money available to various groups, but only through competitive bid. Niether ACORN nor any other group was given money outright through the Stimulas Plan.

Actually ACORN has set up susidiary companies to receive stimulus money as well. I saw an ACORN executive being grilled about one of them but don't remember the name. Our biggest concern is giving large amounts of tax dollars to any organization that has been involved in voter fraud and other illegal activity. Not exactly smart for a government to do regardless of party. I heard that 36 states have investigations currently on ACORN and voter fraud which is scary.

Smitty.

Does it really matter?
I could care less if ACCORN was from the far reaches of the conservative south, the are corrupt and they need to investigated and if found guilty, prosecuted!

Why does it appear that you are defending them.

Senate voted 83-7 to deny funding to ACORN today. Interesting the number of senators who weren't there to vote, at least the California delegation voted yea, surprising though it may be.

Hey 2nd,

I'm just asking for proof of the 8.9 billion dollars that you and Marty are talking about. All I have seen was 9.8 MILLION. That is a huge difference. I'm not defending, I'm just asking. Don't get so defensive. I want more proof than the fact that Limbaugh, or Hannity said so. Is that too much to ask?

Smitty, I already told you were the 8.9 billion came from but it is not an issue anymore – see Dan's post. (thanks Dan – I did not know that).

Google is your friend – just read about SEIU and ACORN!

President Obama received almost $28 million in independent expenditures from the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) for his 2008 campaign, while Labor Secretary Hilda Solis received $10,000 from the SEIU’s PAC for her congressional race.

And President Obama pay back is these:

Section 164 of the Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 provides that the government pay 80 cents on the dollar to corporate and union insurance plans for claims between $15,000 and $90,000 for retirees age 55 to 64. Union health insurance funds only have about 30 cents available to cover each dollar of anticipated claims, according to the Lewin Group and other research outfits.

Written in a backroom, it’s easy to understand why the House Democrats’ bill provides numerous giveaways to special-interest groups and their allies. Here are just a few examples:

With the advances in the different media types why is it that AM Radio is leading? Could it be the message?

if there is a message that is resonating with people (and I'm sure there is) for the life of me I don't get it. I don't need anyone to denounce, belittle, denegrate, or anything else to get my news.

Talk radio, and I'm talking political talk radio (Gene Burns Dining around Town is good :D ) is about as appealing as turnip greens to me. It's all hype, no respect and very little fact checking seems to be taking place from what I can tell. It's just another form of entertainment, like I love Lucy or Seinfeld, just not nearly as funny.
It's not about truth or justice, its about ratings and the further you push it, the better the ratings, and that equates into some pretty healthy paydays for the hosts, stations, advertisers, etc..

They finally got my favorite talk show host in the 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. time slot on KGO. Super intelligent historian that served on Nixons election campaign team. John Rothman - super intelligent and a great historian who I've heard pull speeches verbatim out of no-where that are over 100 years old when correcting a caller. Finally someone who gets his point across without screaming.

My guess is that you have no answer. You easily could have said that you weren't aware of the specific numbers. But then you would have had to admit that you didn't know something.

Have a great day.

Listening to NPR today, for balance, I heard about the funding being cut off but more importantly they won't be helping with the Census.
