Kyle Rassmussen breaks his own Melones spot record

Post by Johnny C »

Kyle caught this 7.97 pound beautiful spot on Superbowl sunday. IMHO Kyle is the best spot fisherman on the west coast.

I know beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but out of clear water, I don't think there is a better looking bass than the Alabama spot. We used to see a lot of 6- to 8-pounders at Lake Perris back in the day. Today, everything is up North. This is one fine catch.

Most guys up there drive the fish up to Glory Hole Sports in the livewell for a picture and then transport it back down to the ramp to release it. That is where that pic was taken.

 No you actually have to weigh a lake record on a certified scale...if you ask a knucklehead question dont be pissed when you get called a knucklehead! Nice to see the spots in Melones are almost catching the spots in McClure! GREAT FISH Kyle!

That is an incredible spot.

Stretch1, I'm sure Johnny C was not trying to offend you. The question you asked appears on many of the threads containing pictures, and he was probably wondering why it is asked so often.

fish are now replicated, not killed times have changed, those that have been to the ISE show and seen all the slmon stripers, and steelhead those are replica's. Take a picture measure and these guys are phnomial with how real it will be!

no need to kill for a mount any longer, just a FYI!

One reason the question seemed out of place is that Johhny C more than anyone else I can think of on this site rails against the meat-eaters and as far as I know is 100% catch and release.

I personally keep 5-10 trout a year and have sympathy for the idea of harvest, But I don't harvest bass personally.

That could be blamed on ignorance. The selective harvesting of certain size/year classes will actually enhance a fishery.

Congrats to Kyle Rassmussen--that's a very impressive fish. And he held the previous lake record to boot!

Stretch if I offended you I apologize. Some many negative posts that get on here must of put me over. As you can see above the question was asked again. Sorry, Johnny C.

I have one of his replicas and have sent a number of clients to Shasta Fish Mounts, Glen Smith. He does a great job, is very reasonably priced, and the service is excellent. 530.275.4321 Every client I have sent his way has been happy with the end result.
