Re: Delta help!

Try Hog and Sycamore Sloughs off of the Mokelumne River. They are dead end sloughs and the water tends to clearer in the back part of the sloughs. Caught my biggest striper (27 lbs) in Sycamore Slough fishing for black bass.

Re: Aerial Footage | Vid of Oroville damage when the spillway flow was stopped today

One of the main reasons to stop the waterflow was to get equipment in there to remove all the junk (e.g. concrete, trees, rocks/gravel, etc.) that got washed into the river. The hydro plant that is down river has been closed to prevent any damage to it from the junk going down river.

Re: Berryessa alert - idiot bass boat driver!

When I read postings/articles about unsafe boating practices, it's a reminder to me that I need to be alert when I'm driving a boat. Unlike driving a car where the driver normally stays in lanes, a boat can come at you from all angles. I know that when I'm driving a boat, I sometimes lose focus on t...

There are some big ones in Clear Lake. The record for a channel catfish caught from Clear Lake is 33+ lbs.

Years ago, I had a friend explore the lake wearing scuba gear and he swears that he saw catfish that must weigh 50+ lbs.

On most of my lures, I've replaced stock hooks with either Owner 4x (ST-66) or VMC 4x red (9626TR) hooks and stronger split rings. Most of my front hooks are the VMC 4x red hooks and my back hook(s) are Owner 4x. That's personal preference. I hate to lose fish that are the result of hooks getting st...
