Re: Best Boat For Rough Water
That's simple. Regardless of what anyone tells you, bass boats aren't designed for rough water. They just don't have the necessary freeboard or deadrise that rough water requires. You just need to learn boat handling and minimize the pain. The most important thing is to use your trim and throttle to...

Re: Campgrounds/docks with electric
If yer going throughout the country, add Lake Fork in East Texas to your list. Huge lake, several ramps with the facilities you need at several locations on the lake - gas, food, lodging, hook ups, etc... all right on the water (there are several good maps available listing these places). All these...

Re: Campgrounds/docks with electric
I've been down the road of various campground guides and found them to be inadequate when it comes to identifying campgrounds with electrified docks. Even many campground's own web sites don't offer that information. It makes for a long process of research and phone calls.

Campgrounds/docks with electric
Hey All, So I recently purchased a motorhome, and I'm towing my boat throughout the country spending time at as many of the best fisheries as possible. Here's my question: What campgrounds do you know of that either come with an electrified overnight slip or are within a few hundred yards of an elec...

Re: Sleeping on the boat
If you ever come to Clear Lake, feel free to camp out in our store parking lot. Just let us know ahead of time. Troy & Dave (Clearlake Outdoors) I was wondering where the tackle shop was. That's a great offer. I may just take you up on it. Either way you just got a new customer.

Re: Sleeping on the boat
I thought of getting a little generator and doing as you suggest, but knowing where to park without attracting cops, tweakers, and other undesirables kinda requires local knowledge. Holland marina has been mentioned in other posts, but I was just there and was told that sleeping in the lot is no lon...

Re: Buyers Remorse--HDS-8
For me, it's about how far away the screen is from my eyes. It's hard to see a little screen sometimes if it is deck mounted on the bow and you're standing. On the other hand, the unit at your console is usually only a foot or two from your eyes. So...I would put the bigger unit at the bow and the s...

Sleeping on the boat
My first post! I'm from so cal, and I like to make trips up north to fish big water. Obviously the cost of motels and even camping can get out of hand. I was recently thinking that I might be able to just get a slip with elec, a pop up tent for the deck, and a sleeping bag. I think it would be cheap...
