Thanks for pointing out the screws, I thought they were "push-in " nylon type. Those would wear out quickly. I have (had been) an Evinrude guy for quite a number of years until the first E-tecs came out. I brought a Yamaha on the back of my current boat and every things fine. A lot of $$$ ...

My question might be stupid, but how long before one of the side cover keepers wears out and there goes a side cover while on full pad or going down the freeway?

sorry I didn't get back to you eariler, sunday chores. My mech. came by and it's like I told you, tune up - wires & plugs, and replace entire water pump assem. might be a problem with the carbs being dry, has'nt been ran for 4 mons. if they need it , I'll do them. If you or anyone eles buys this...

ran good when I set the boat down, and have a mech. coming over tomorrow (sun.). I know it needs a tune-up and the impeller has to be replaced plus lower end grease. It did 52 - 55 mph with the shooter prop. and 60 - 62 mph with the reg. prop. I found the shooter comes handt in higher lakes the hole...
