The worser side

 is that they'll probably drive the local shops out. I live in So.Cal., I do buy from BPS and Cabela's, but I mostly buy local. 8.25% is a small price to pay to me if it means my local guy is there when I need him, either for repairs, baits, or info. And I buy from Tackle Wharehouse, which char...

Tax poor..

I pay the tax on the boat in my driveway, my tags, my passes, .....on and on. But I'm lucky right now, I can still afford it. In ten years it may be another story. I think a major part of the problem is the fact that the Federal Govt. takes much more in taxes out of our state than it returns. Many s...

I know you are very successful fishing and all, but not everyone is as unorthodox as you (Good lick). Personally, a kiss is as far as I'll go with a bass, but, then again, I've never been as accomplished as you, so maybe I should try it. It seems to be working for your friend, Dino.

If John Barron's post is accurate, and I'm sure it is, then fishing in general, and bass fishing specifically, is doing great. Professional fishing is just what it says. It is a business. And those who are most successful have found a way to combine the skills of fishing with the skills of being a business person. Most of the rest of us (I am speaking for me) are either fishing to keep in some kind of competition doing what...

Cooch is right. The old saying of, "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it" really applies here, I think. Everyone who has been pushing for bass fishing to become a national sport now sees that it has become, first and foremost, entertainment, like the other pro and college sp...

If the connections are fried, it may just have been bad connections that overheated. Buy some wire nuts or crimp connectors of the same size, cut off the bad connections, and redo them. If it was just a bad connection, this will do it. If it's more than that, you'll be able to tell because the conne...
