Life jacket exchanges set for TODAY to kick off Safe Boating Week
National Safe Boating Week is all about encouraging responsible boating and life jacket wear every time boaters are on the water. As we enter boating season, the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) is kicking off the initiative on May 19 by hosting life jacket exchange events throughout the state. The goal is to make sure that no one has an excuse for not wearing a life jacket — people can swap old, worn-out life jackets for a brand new one in the appropriate size.

Free Online Boating Courses This Week Through March 24
Next week, Mar. 18-24, is a great time to take a boating safety course. Why? It’s perfect timing just before the start of the boating and fishing season and the week-long ‘Spring Aboard’ public service campaign makes it easy for boaters to take a boating safety course. The educational effort is a partnership of the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA), government, and nonprofit partners including the BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water.

The BoatUS Foundation's boating safety course is the only free online educational tool that helps boaters obtain their state's boating safety education certification easily and affordably. To help keep the course free, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit is asking for tax-deductible donations to help educate the next generation of recreational boaters.
