Stripes are in the area. Best area has been Courtland to Walnut grove. The Sacramento Turning Basin is really the unsung hero here as there continues to be stripes caught there by lure tossers. Hair Jigs and small shad patterned swim baits are the top choices here as well. Bank anglers Pile worms and cut baits prevail.

Action Alert: UC Davis Courses on the Delta
UC Davis Extension is holding a class to educate Sacramento citizens on the Delta with an agenda of selling the public on the tunnels. We hope some of you can register for this class and share your knowledge of how this project will destroy the Delta. We will be busy at that time at the State Water Board.

Stable weather and moderate tides have limited the results of many anglers heading to the Isleton area this past week. Although as the temperatures cooled a bit this week and the smallmouth bite is on the upswing. Smallmouth are a great target species this time of year that can help you beat the summer doldrums . Strike King Crankbaits and Plastics are good choices here for the hard fighting smallies. Won’t be long and the focus here will change to salmon.
