Connell’s closest competition, Lowrance Pro Jamie Hartman finished in 48th place with 41 pounds, 7 ounces. That allowed Connell to win the Rookie of the Year race by the thinnest of margins, 765-764 – the fifth time in the last six years a Lowrance angler has received Bassmaster Elite Rookie of the Year honors.
