Evers Finds Fishing Tougher, Maintains BASSfest Lead
PARIS, Tenn. — After catching two limits of bass that weighed 24 pounds or better the first two days of Zippo BASSfest at Kentucky Lake presented by A.R.E. Truck Caps, Oklahoma angler Edwin Evers had high expectations for Saturday. Things didn’t go as well as he’d hoped, but he still managed a five-bass limit that weighed 21 pounds, 2 ounces and maintained his lead with a three-day total of 72-4.

Anglers Compete In First High School All-American Tournament
As part of the Zippo Bassmaster BASSfest presented by A.R.E. Truck Caps, the 12 Bassmaster All-Americans were paired with 12 Bassmaster Elite Series pros and earned a chance to fish with the pros on Lake Barkley. Zeke Gossett, an Alabama angler representing Pell City High School, won the one-day event with his Elite Series partner, Cliff Crochet. The pair caught 14 pounds, 2 ounces

California Fishing License Bill Passes State Senate
(Sacramento, CA): Today, the California State Senate passed the California Sportfishing Stimulus Act of 2015 unanimously. Senate Bill SB 345, sponsored by the California Sportfishing League (CSL) and authored by Senator Tom Berryhill and Assembly Member Frank Bigelow, aims to address California's unprecedented decline in fishing participation and increase fishing license sales.

San Francisco Bay Area Abalone Poachers Fined $20K Each
Three San Francisco men received thousands of dollars in fines and other penalties after pleading no contest to illegally poaching 59 abalone in November 2014. The daily bag limit for abalone is three.confiscated abalone Jinfu Wu, 43, Wei Q Wu, 27, and Jin He Li, 35, all of San Francisco, were each fined $20,000 (Wu and Li had $5,000 suspended) and sentenced to 36 months of probation and 240 hours of community service.
