COAST GUARD FOUNDATION TO RECOGNIZE HEROISM AND MISSION EXCELLENCE
The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education and welfare of all Coast Guard members and their families, announced today that its annual Tribute to the United States Coast Guard in Houston will be held at the Hilton Americas-Houston Hotel in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. At the event, the Foundation will recognize Coast Guard Air Station Houston aircrew CGNR 6581. In addition, the 2017 Guardian Award will be presented to ConocoPhillips, a Houston-based oil and natural gas producing company. Admiral Paul F. Zukunft, Commandant of the Coast Guard, will deliver keynote remarks.

Angler Rescued by Coast Guard
While search crews were en route to the scene, watchstanders from the Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg Command Center received a call via VHF-FM marine radio channel 16 from a good Samaritan who was on scene with the woman's husband. The good Samaritan stated the husband's boat was disabled and in need of assistance 23 miles off Bean Point.
