    Anglers from the Bear Creek Bass Club rolled up their sleeves and joined staff from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to break ground on a new weigh-in facility to be housed at the Prairie Creek Access on Beaver Lake in Northwest Arkansas. They even managed to add a little extra habitat to the water while clearing the area making up the footprint of the new facility.

The Little Red River Foundation and Arkansas Game and Fish Commission have kicked off a program to capture and recycle used fishing line on and around the river. Local students, LRRF members and AGFC officials will place recapture bins at all approved sites in the next few weeks.

    Austin—Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) partnered with Texas Tournament Zone (TTZ) and the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department and Watershed Protection to install fish habitat structures assembled out of brush into Lake Austin on June 7, 2015. TTZ, a Friends of Reservoirs chapter member, has led fundraising efforts and volunteer recruitment to help restore fish habitat recently denuded in the lake. Ashe juniper (mountain cedar) tree cuttings will be bundled and sunk at strategic fishing hotspots throughout the lake.
