At the request of Gilbert Parks and Recreation, the Gilbert Youth Fishing Day, scheduled for 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Dec. 8, will be moved to Discovery Park located at 2214 E. Pecos Road.

CAST for Kids Event at The BassFest
The CAST for Kids Foundation will be having an event the morning of The BassFest Vendor Expo September 8th. They are looking for volunteer boaters and shore volunteers. Come on out and help give these kids a memory that will last a lifetime.

New Outdoor Program for Special Needs Kids
Trinity Oaks, a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in San Antonio, has expanded their free outdoor programs to now include children with disabilities. “Unique Kids” will be a new program offered by Trinity Oaks and headed up by volunteer Marisa Poole, a special education teacher by profession. The Trinity Oaks’ Unique Kids will provide safe outdoor day-trip experiences for special needs children afflicted with Autism, Downs Syndrome, and other disabilities.

Kids Welcome at Family Fishing Area Fro AZGFD Expo

BBT is proud of our continued support of CAST for Kids Foundation Events all over the State of California. There are 2 events coming up in the next couple months. CAST for Kids Lake Folsom will be on April 29th and the Brannan Island Event will be June 3rd.

Just last week, my wife and I took our two-year-old on the water. If you have ever taken a child this age on a boat you know, it is more chasing and watching them to make sure they don't fall in instead of fishing.

C.A.S.T. for kids Lake Shasta
I am the Western Program Director for the Catch a Special Thrill Foundation. We have an event upcoming on Lake Shasta June 10, 2017. We are in need of more boater volunteers for the event. These boater volunteers would donate 2-4 hours of their time that morning to take a special needs child and a parent or guardian out for a couple hours fishing. They would then stay and have lunch with the kids and cheer for them on during the awards ceremony. I have a flyer made for the event that i can send you to help us advertise the event. CAST for Kids Event at Lake Berryessa
This is a one-day event where we bring children with disabilities or disadvantages out to the lake and take them fishing. The event is May 14th. The event is recruiting boaters who are willing to volunteer their time and boat and make a difference for a kid for a day. Volunteers get a t-shirt and BBQ lunch.
