The California Delta will welcome TWO frog events this year. For 2015, the Snag Proof Open and Angler’s Press will hold separate frog events. The ever-popular, longstanding, ORIGINAL frog only event - the Snag Proof Open will blast off for its 14th annual tournament on the first weekend of August (1st and 2nd) as it always has. There are some changes to the Snag Proof Open format for this year. NEW for the anglers: - The event will be run by Randy Pringle and the BBT staff, who will be donating their time, allowing for a 100% entry fee payback. - Boat order will not be by signups. There will be a lottery draw for boat release order. - All entries received by July 15 will receive a FREE breakfast on Day 1 AND a FREE BBQ at weigh-in of Day 1. In this issue of the WesternBass.com Magazine, you will be able to find several tips to get a jump on your frog fishing as well as other summertime tips, tricks, techniques and other fishing news. Kevin Miranda of Sac just caught the NEW LAKE RECORD BASS! 18.17 lbs 31" long, 24" girth! Caught out by Little Hat Island on crank bait. It is reported that Miranda caught it on a River2Sea V-joint minnow crankbait.

Extreme Caution Suggested for Lake Users On High Water Levels
The Army Corps of Engineers is urging all visitors to Bull Shoals and Norfork lakes to exercise extreme caution while water levels are high. Campers, swimmers, and boaters visiting park areas should use extreme caution and be aware that certain recreation areas may be closed to the public for their protection. Boaters should be aware that with the higher water conditions objects normally out of the water are now submerged and difficult to see.

Lake Fish Stocking to Continue
Efforts to re-establish a viable fishery in Lake Altus-Lugert will continue after recent sampling efforts that show the lake has not recovered from two deadly golden algae blooms. "We are doing everything we can, because it is our highest priority," said Larry Cofer, southwest region fisheries supervisor for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation.

Bass Habitat at Texas' Lake Austin Enhanced With Attractors
Austin—Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) partnered with Texas Tournament Zone (TTZ) and the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department and Watershed Protection to install fish habitat structures assembled out of brush into Lake Austin on June 7, 2015. TTZ, a Friends of Reservoirs chapter member, has led fundraising efforts and volunteer recruitment to help restore fish habitat recently denuded in the lake. Ashe juniper (mountain cedar) tree cuttings will be bundled and sunk at strategic fishing hotspots throughout the lake.

OUTDOOR WRITERS OF OHIO STATE RECORD FISH COMMITTEE New Ohio State Record Hybrid Striped Bass Certified A new Ohio record Hybrid Striped Bass (a cross between a white bass and a striped bass) has been certified by the Outdoor Writers of Ohio State Record Fish Committee. The new state record hybrid striper, weighing 18.32 pounds, was caught by Richard A. Knisely of Washington Court House, Ohio in a feeder creek to Deer Creek Lake in Fayette County.
