    Westernbass Magazine, Spring 2016

I am certainly ready for a new season of bassin’ and hope you are too. I’ve been excited to kick off the year with coverage of the International Sports Shows in Sacramento and Scottsdale as well as the Fred Hall show. Stay tuned for upcoming tank seminars on WesternBassTV, if you missed the shows. This year, WesternBass was excited to bring site users video clips from our western anglers at the Bassmaster Classic. I will be watching and cheering them on throughout the year. I would like to congratulate Lowrance pro Edwin Evers for his outstanding win at Grand Lake for the Classic championship – 29 pounds! Wow! I would to like remind anglers that WesternBass offers many features on the site to make tournament planning easy. Under the Interactive tab, we have the Tournament Calendar and Special Events with Digital Guides for all of the Wild West Bass Trail events. Under the Delta tab, you will find moon phases, weather, water temps and tide charts to help plan a fun and productive day on the tidal water. Lastly, I want to thank all of you for your support of the site and the magazine. It is because of you and our sponsors that WesternBass is the place where fishermen talk. Wayne

Kerr conquers WWBT Rivalry on Roosevelt presented by Ranger Boats

    By

Justin Kerr of Simi Valley, Calif. notched another win in his list of angling accomplishments this past weekend at the Wild West Bass Trail (WWBT) Arizona Pro/Am Division’s Rivalry on Lake Roosevelt presented by Ranger Boats. Kerr kicked off day one by besting the pro field with a double-digit lead, hauling up 28.68 for his five-fish limit. The magnitude of the weight was astounding as Kerr’s single day limit weighed more than all but four of his competitor’s two-day tournament totals.

Making the most out of used water comes down to adaptation and a confidence in your ability to make a move from the back of the boat. Co-anglers continue to learn and adjust to not only fishing conditions, environmental patterns and all of the other known stressors in tournament bass fishing, but these men and women must also compete on the fly where many times, boaters can throw serious curve balls throughout the day.
