After the second day of the Bassmaster Classic Bracket held on the Niagara River out of Buffalo, N.Y., the Match One winner (VanDam) will move on to fish against the Match Two winner (Kreiger) Thursday and Match Three (Hite) winner will move on to fish against the Match Four winner (Rojas).

VanDam Leads The Bracket Pack
Kevin VanDam of Kalamazoo, Mich., caught the most weight — a 10 pound, 4 ounce limit of bass — on the first day of the Bassmaster Classic Bracket held on the Niagara River. The quarterfinals will continue July 20 with Match Three (Hite vs. Combs) and Match Four (Lee vs. Rojas) fishing in the morning and Match One (VanDam vs. Benton) and Match Two (Powroznik vs. Kreiger) moving to the afternoon.

Greg Hackney's First-Day Catch Disqualified
Louisiana angler Greg Hackney came into this week’s Busch Beer Bassmaster Elite at Cayuga Lake with a commanding lead in the Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year race — and it seemed for a while on Day 1 like he had maintained that lead. Hackney caught 17 pounds, 8 ounces to land in 36th place, but it was announced after Thursday’s weigh-in that his catch had been disqualified.

The angler's 579 points accrued from competing in the three Southern Open events gave him the title and qualifies Rose for the 2017 Bassmaster Elite Series.Rose started strong at the first Southern Open event on Kissimmee Chain of Lakes in Florida. His third-place finish put him in a good position in the Angler of the Year standings.
