HUGE TROPHY COW Striper Released
Surf fishing for striped Bass - huge trophy cow striper released from the beach. "There are 4 kinds of bass to catch: bass, good bass, big bass and trophy bass." While surf fishing for big striped bass last week I had some really nice striper but this cow striper was the largest bass of the week.

Commercial Fisherman Pleads Guilty to Illegal Striper Take
The United States Attorney's Office announced that today in federal court, DEWEY W. WILLIS, JR., 39, of Newport pled guilty to federal charges regarding the illegal harvest and sale of Atlantic striped bass from federal waters off the coast of North Carolina during 2010.

ntioch Pier scored stripers to 38 inches this week. Shad is top offering. The West as in Honker Bay to the Broad Slough plug casting is getting fish when wind cooperates. Go On Top with Trinadad Cedar Plugs. Bass Bite stays solid in the Break and surrounding cuts. Cranking and spinnerbaits is starting to improve daily.

Proposal to Eradicate California’s Bass Population Withdrawn
The American Sportfishing Association (ASA), along with a coalition of leaders in the recreational fishing and boating community, are pleased to announce thatstriped and black (largemouth and smallmouth) bass, important sportfish species in California, won’t be targeted for eradication as invasive species in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and its tributaries.
