    John McClellan of Oroville led the leaderboard on the second stop of the Wild West Bass Trail (WWBT) California Pro/Am division on Lake Oroville presented by Evinrude. Weighing in with a tournament total of 25.11, McClellan topped the field of nearly 200 competitors and took the first-place payout of the $100,000 awarded to the anglers this past weekend.

    The Wild West Bass Trail (WWBT) welcomed 110 boats to Lake Shasta on Feb. 27 for its second circuit stop of the California Teams division. Partners Sage Baker, of Shasta Lake and Jon Kenyon of Redding, Calif. bested the field with a seven-fish limit for 28.65, leaving their nearest competitors trailing by 9 lbs.

    The first leg of the 2016 California Tournament Trail (CTT) pro-am circuit wrapped upJanuary 16-17 at Lake Oroville. After four years of drought, we’re finally having a real winter trying to fill the lake all at once. As the newly crowned amateur champion, Sean Widger of Livermore put it: “It was nasty.” This made fishing, boat-runs, and on-the-water coverage challenging, even during the practice period.Anglers stuck it out despite the weather, with virtually every boat weighing in, as they should, in a great display of sportsmanship and support. In the end, it was Chico State college angler; Travis Bounds of Roseville getting his first win as a pro taking home $2,600 by edging Chad Frie by the smallest of margins.

    The first circuit stop of the Wild West Bass Trail (WWBT) Arizona Teams event drew 91 boats to Lake Roosevelt on Feb. 13. The husband and wife team of Victor and Debra Cunningham of Tonto Basin took the trophy and a $6,500 payout with a winning weight of 16.04.
