Ranger Anglers Sweep FLW Angler of the Year Awards
Ranger Boats Pro Bryan Thrift claimed FLW Tour Angler of the Year for the second time after a remarkable season that found the angler in the top-10 four times. The honor of Angler of the Year goes to the most consistent angler on tour and awards a $100,000 prize. Ranger angler Gary Haraguchi rounded out the Ranger sweep by winning the FLW Co-Angler of the Year award. The co-angler was awarded a brand new Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude outboard.

As it stands right now, Bryan College remains in first place with a total of 1942 points, followed by University of North Alabama in second with 1878 points, and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in third with 1800 points.

The Association of Collegiate Anglers has released the first rankings of the 2017 Cabela's Collegiate Bass School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia race, and it comes as no surprise to college fishing fans to see some of the top fishing schools in the nation holding the top three spots. With over four months and 12 events now completed, the Murray State University bass team has taken an early lead in the season long quest to be crowned the best fishing team in the nation.

Grove won for the California division and Mazy took Arizona.

Elite Anglers Claim Classic Berths, Payouts In Toyota Angler of the Year Championship DOOR COUNTY, Wis. — Thrills and heartbreaks were center stage on Championship Sunday at the 2015 Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year (AOY) Championship at Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Titles were earned, goals became reality and dreams turned to dust at the final Bassmaster Elite Series event of the year. Aaron Martens of Leeds, Ala., was crowned 2015 Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year and Brent Ehrler of Newport Beach, Calif., wrapped up a very dominant freshman year on the Elite Series and was named Rookie of the Year. Martens collected $100,000 for winning Angler of the Year.

DETROIT — Aaron Martens slept through his alarm clock Sunday morning, got on the water 30 minutes late and still clinched the 2015 Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year title three weeks early. By finishing sixth in the Plano Bassmaster Elite at Lake St. Clair, the 43-year-old Leeds, Ala., angler built an insurmountable 102-point lead over his next closest competitor. It sealed possibly the most dominant season in Elite Series history.
