just do it like FLW did at havasu a year or two back. i think it was jay yelas that was using a lowe or bass tracker to get back into the bays. they put a camera man in the boat and gave him a ranger! rick you can tow some wrapped Anglers Marine boats down there and charge a rental fee or sale the boats like B.A.S.S. does at a discount
. you could improve sales across state lines and have free advertising
it could work

I was a VTO at the HBC at DVL. I had a good angler who followed the rules and I wore my vest when I was supposed to.
How about random observers in some of the tourneys and on the water boat inspections selected at random.
After takeoff you select 5-10% of the boats and they get inspected. Check livewells, etc. It should take no more than 5-10 minutes and you can videotape it.

This whole thing is starting to get very boring & I don't think we will see Mike around any more. Now I can go back to Castaic again and when I don't win, it will be my lousy fishing.

What Rick said +1Rick G wrote:To me its not different than the Orgs having to pay for insurance, workers comp, or gas to the events. Build it into the cost of doing business and get it done. Now is all their chances to do the right thing for the anglers and the sport. JC is right on. Lie detectors will keep the scumbags out. Rick G.
And you have to use the polygraph on occasionally. Can't just be an empty threat, and can't just be used on first place anglers. Dudes will figure out how to cheat to second place.
Depending on the questions asked maybe folks will have to obey the speed limit.

Re: US Open Cheater?
thats a great idea rick put him to work and make him push u into the back waters while u fish rules only say that the anglers cant leave the boat it would be like having your own caddy.Rick G wrote:Thats more than reasonable and a great idea. My boat is plenty big enough, but if you think that if Joey and Dino feel like takin the duck boat in a Havasu TOC and havin a 200+ lb observer keepin them from some skinny backwater is not goin to be drama get ready. Whatever it takes I guess is fine with me. Rick G.Dynastyworms wrote:Ha ha DL said motorboating! You motorboating sob!
Rick
Just put observers in the top 20+ boats after day one. That's all you really need. Just make sure u have the people with the chance at money.

Weights US Open Cheater?
Mike Hart Did it" We all Know it"... Think about this, How long has he been cheating, How long did it take him to figure out to attach a hook to the weight? Obviously he tried it before without the hook ~ And then in his little sick mind he came up with a solution" He planned this from the beginning.. So he was experienced cheater" His poor excuse of "I felt obligated" to pay the entry fee back because he borrowed the money "SO WEAK" ~ Today everyone is struggling, My hat's off to Won Bass Exposing Mike Hart Live in~front of all us ~ We are all true competitors" And hate cheaters.. This will follow Mike wherever he goes" Good For Him!

Re: Weights US Open Cheater?
Regarding "Hats off to WON"ditto, ditto, ditto...They couldn't have handled the situation any better!!!!
The integrity of our sport has been compromised. Through all the years of organized bass fishing very few cheaters have been caught, that, compared to the number of tournaments and fishermen that participate worldwide its a very low percentage. But bass fishing is already considered by many to be "red neck" sport, although these people are narrow minded instances like this only serve to magnify the image. It's truly is a sad day, it's been running through my mind since last Wednesday and it is sorta like losing a loved one.... after the shock you just can't quit thinking about it. Imagine!!!! throwing away a whole career for less than 16 ounces.
Mike Hart went to Lake Mead fully prepared to cheat, the weighted design he used was not some "Rube Goldberg" apparatus, it was well thought out and no doubt pre-rigged before he ever got to Mead. He was fully aware of how the system worked including when the fish eventually died it would sink leaving no evidence. The slip up came when he used it at Mead where the fish were small and could not stand the stress of being caught and the additional weight. The fish down here are much more hearty, no telling how many 3 to 6 pounder's were doctored at local tounaments.
I have fished tournaments in So. Cal for over 30 years, and quit Anglers Choice last year because of Hart and Zank.... it wasn't that I didn't think I could beat them, it was that in the back of my mind
I thought no one could be that good for that long. "I fish to win not to donate!" Not touting 20/20 hind sight but I personally decided that I would stop and wait it out. To add, I have known Zank since was in his late teens or early 20's when he was living with Jack O'Malley and I sincerely hope he was, in no way, mixed up in this.... I can't imagine in my wildest thoughts Zank would ever cheat.
As for Mile Hart he deserves everything thrown at him, he will live with this for the rest of his life.....I feel for his family and ex-partners as now, not matter what they do, they will always be judged by their association with a cheater with no moral or ethical fiber.
I will return in tournament fishing in 2011, and take my chances, on even keel, with some of the best bass fishermen in the world... the Southern California anglers...
Final thoughts --------
Have tar.....need feathers.

Re: US Open Cheater?
bass tourneys kill too many fish in the first place. i wonder how many bigger females this guy has killed over the years, let alone how much LEAD he dumped in the water, affecting our drinking water and the wildlife that ate his dead fish that survived the scales.
