Re: Recommended rpm
If you do not have a jackplate, the prop/pad measurement is irrelevent as your motor is fixed to the transom. All you can do is trim to maximize rpm/mph. Prop size can change top end and holeshot approximatly 200 rpm. If you run a 24 and change to a 25, your rpms will go down 200 or so and your top ...

Re: Recommended rpm
First, don't adjust anything. Do you have a set of rabbit ears? Place them over the water intake of the lower end, turn the water on and turn your motor on. Keep it at idle. The RPMs should be around 600-800. If that is the case, then it is set correctly and when turned off just rests at the 1000 ma...

Your prop is to small. What are you running? You should be able to go WOT and be at around 5800rpm.

Re: Hydraulic steering
Piece of cake. I have installed two. It will take you a few hours. Make sure and bleed the lines properly and you are good to go. VERY IMPORTANT---- before you pull the old cables, tape the end at the motor to the end of the hydraulic line that attches to the helm. When you pull it out, it will pull...

Re: Bass Boat Seat Belts
What about driving at appropriate speeds in rough water, taking wider angles on turns, and using some common sense. There are times when you can let it fly and still be safe. I have been a boater for along time in high powered bass boats. Have been a non boater previous to that. I have never been th...

It has been a few years since we owned our property whcih had a 3.8 acre lake and 25 ft at it deepest points. The keys to our success was 1.water inflow and outflow 2. pre graded some spawning flats and ledges. 3. took peoples old christmas trees, weighted them and strategically placed 4. had mosqui...

The Ranger Z21 is out. Sat in one today. The console sits to low for my 6'3 long leg body. When hitting the hotfoot, the bottom of the console rest against my shin inderneath the kneecap. Not good. Kopper, Thanks for the detailed info. This is not my first boat, just upgrading to newer and the models have changed so much. I like the skeeter I class but tend to like the Merc Pro XS. Boat Question
Looking to get a newer 2-3 year old 21 ft rig. If you had your choice between a Ranger Z21, Skeeter 21 I Class, or a Champion 210 Elite, which would you choose and why? I am looking for user feedback, not a sales pitch. They all have uniqueness to them. Just doing my homework on what I know is a sub...

Power Pro white. Hard to get. 65lb for flip/pitch and 50lb for frogs. I take a marks a lot permanent marker in the color of choice (usually black) and color the last 4 feet. The white is easy to see. Hi vis yellow can be seen but can't be colored. Power pro is very manageable, never digs in hook set...

Re: Bassmaster Elite Boats
Triton was the official boat sponser for several years. Now it is Skeeter. Personal preferance and sponsership drives it. All of the major manufactures have good hulls (lifetime warranty) and are all powered by the same motors (Mercury, Yamaha, Evinrude). At least on the BASS curcuit you have a choi...

Costco Kirkland are $70 and are some of the best batteries made if you do the research. Used weekly, and taken care of (don't let them sit un-charged) are still going strong after 4 years. Group 27's have never let me down and have neber given out even after 10 hours in 30 knot wind and 3 footers

I am at a loss with your post. I fished there 20+ times in 2009 and slayed them all the time. No only quantity, but quality. They are all torpedo's. Most of the 14 " fish ar 2+lbs I boated some donkeys as well. Many 6+ fish. It is still a great fishing lake, and the fish are as healthy as ever
