Camping at Brannan Island
Hey folks, been a while since I visted the site and boy have things changed. The site looks amazing!! I'm giving up my Salt Water Aquarium hobby for a while to free up more time for Fishing,Hunting and camping with the family this year. What is the best camping area for kids and good fishing at Bran...

Re: Anyone in the Lincoln area??
Heck I used to catch a ton of 1-2lbs in the little pond everytime I went. And the Sun fish were huge until people started fishing them out and taking tiny 3" fish to make fish soup

Anyone in the Lincoln area??
Anyone out there that is Familar with the ponds off Gladding?? I used to fish them many years ago and was shocked to see the size fish I would pull out of that first little puddle. Never pulled much out of the big one unless I brough out a float tube. Any way it's been years and now there is a sign ...

Re: Bait Casting Reel/ rod combo
Thanks. I really wanted it for all around fishing but mostly I will use it for Spinnerbaits and Crank Baits. I'm still not skilled enough to pitch with it so I use a 7' spinning rod and reel for that. The rod and reel were on sale so I think I got out the door for $240+ tax. Sportsmens warehouse was...

Re: Bait Casting Reel/ rod combo
Well I went with the Curado 300 and a Shimano Compre rod. The rod is a little small for this big reel but I will get a lil bigger rod down the road.
Thanks for suggestions (what little there were hahahaha)

Re: Smallmoth fishing
I had no idea there were Smallies here in the river. I own a Salt Water Aquarium store about 5 mintues from where the Yuba meets the Feather. I have caught some small ones by the dock but my Bayliner can't run in that shallow water and it's hard to Bass fish from the shore unless it's a pond so I ha...

Re: Bait Casting Reel/ rod combo
6'6" or 7' Rod? I have a decent 7' Lighting Rod and Mitchell reel I use for pitching or throwin senko's. And a cheap 6' Rhino I use for a back up.
I like to use my bait casters for Spinners, buzz baits and jerk baits.

Bait Casting Reel/ rod combo
What is the best all around combo for around $300. I used to have the older model Curado so I'm looking for something that compares.
Thanks
Rob

Ya but I wanted smaller bodies of water. Something I don't always have to drag the boat out to.

Re: Where to take a 5 year old bass fishing
Thanks Again. I will have to find out where those ponds in Gridley are. We go to CFW all the time but during the summer there is too many skiers, etc. for me. We are the type that go camping the weekend before or the weekend after a big holiday!! I am going to search out the dredge ponds as well. Tha...

Re: Where to take a 5 year old bass fishing
Actually we will be heading up to Rollins next month.
I was hoping for some thing smaller then one of the local Lakes. We live in the Marysville/Yuba City area and fish most of the Lakes and the Sutter bypass. I just know there have to be some nice ponds around here!!
Thanks for all the tips!

Where to take a 5 year old bass fishing
Hey folks been a while since I have been here, even had to change my user name :D Any way, I need to find a nice honey hole to take my 5 year old. Since I opened my own Salt Water Aquarium store my fishing time is down to 6-8 times a year VS 100+ times a year. All my old ponds seem to have been over...
