I look at posts all over the internet about guys catching 20 plus stripers and keeping them ...everyone says they support catch and release ....it seems they support catch and release until the catch a large striper then they always have some reason why they kept it....i will never understand this t...

Went out a couple days ago ...launched out of Tiki lagoon..fished mouth of whiskey slough, flats around the ferry on middle river near bullfrog landing , a big circle around toward franks tract and on to the main river flats hitting various spots that have been good in the past...never saw the water...

lots of bait around....more bait than the last 2 years....water is too hot but still caught some nice fish last week....my prediction is this will be the best year in the last few years...as soon as the temps drop to the high 50's it will bust wide open....tons of bait and birds and some big big fis...

i was joking of course. theres no chance of any politician doing the right thing..we are going to end up fishing for white sea bass in rio vista instead of stripers and surf perch off red bluff....anyway its 5 am...im off to a small flooded island to hopefully battle a couple topwater fish

yeah ive been thinking about this a couple years and ive got some positive feedback...its more about keeping good information from the poachers out there than anything else...plus im thinking about getting it going before the spring run too...in a very short time ive gotten specific information noon...

ive seen them wacking fish but not stripers....ive seen 4 feeding in the last couple weeks...one had a carp....the other had big salmon....one at the mouth of whiskey slough at empire cut.....the other 3 were out on the san joaquin....was up above walnut grove alot august-september smallmouth fishin...

launched at new hope on the moke and fished around beaver hog and sycamore sloughs for nothing....decide to head out to the old sacramento but the lockes were closed so we got out of the water and headed to rio vista and launched at the city ramp around 1030....if you guys know of a website or phone...

i wonder if any of you guys remember a lure called salty dog shrimp...i believe it was made by bagley...we used to fish this bait in the south bay at night and it may have been the first swimbait...not sure...it had an elongated one ounce leadhead and a plastic shrimp shaped tail about 5 inches long...

when the delta turns over i like to use live salmon smolts or delta smelt on a 7/0 treble....when you get a bite put it in freespool for 3 minutes to make sure they have it real good then set the hook....and please practice catch and release

empire cut near the pipes under a full moon tonight,whiskey slough, turner cut near the mouth between the houses and the san joaquin from holt rd to turner cut and yeah horseshoe bend is always full of stripers around now....they used to release all the fish trapped in the seines at the pumps right ...

fished some cuts in whiskey...flats on the middle river west of mildred and flats out on the san joaquin west of lost isle....we had 30 plus fish boil on our topwater baits.[..lps,spooks,woodchoppers,the ones] but no fish would commit....tried slower, faster,lots of in between...we got one 22 incher...

Not just a pencil popper....they walk as good as anything ive fished....pop and walk....you can walk them....pop and walk them....pop them only....sounds like a commercial for them but ive caught 5 fish over ten on them in the last month so im a fan especially in dead calm water

Yeah I was up smallmouth fishing out of walnut grove and the sea lions were throwing 20 lb salmon around all day and last week i saw 5 last week on the buoys at the mouth of potato slough...they are a freekin menace

good job sm....to be clear it's obvious who the poachers are...probably shouldnt have been so general just saying they are asians in aluminum boats..spending alot of time on the water its easy to see who they are...theres alot of russian poachers too...as far as throwing wakes....i always slow down ...

yeah they wont look at you either...been seeing them for years now...especially up around mildred...if you wave or try to aknowledge them in any way they turn away...i enjoy throwing a big wake on them whenever i can

well i went to big break today for the first time ....big clouds of mud everywhere i went...not sure if thats a normal thing..got two 20 inchers on big hammer 6 inch white swimbaits and absolutely nothing else....probably takes some time to learn this place...like the lauritzen marina...nice ramp......
