I've punched numerous 8, 9, and one 10 with my e7 No drag problems at all. Plus the fact that u can find em here on w.b. classifieds and eBay for 120 to 140 for one hell of a reel.

Do what Byron velvick does and smother some sort of attraction on it like pro cure. Could be the lil bit extra to make em commit to the bait.

Re: Where are the good spots to catch STripers in Delta now?
Try the east wall of Franks. White l.c. pointer jerkbaits. Not gonna give up any honey spots but look for flats that are close to drop offs stripers will come up on flats early in the morning to feed then drop back deep mid day then come back up for evening bites. Toss topwater for search baits then...

id go with suffix, i was a die hard power pro user for years but when my buddy let me spool up my reel with some suffix i never went back. its smoother casting a whole lot more quiet, doesnt fray as easy, as much or as fast power pro. and believe it or not it cast further as well!

North delta black and red sweet beaver and skirts they wanted a smaller profile . On islands away from current during incoming tide way back in the junk. penny wart and hydrilla mixed spots not just either of the two seemed to really hold em. Picture the darkest spots under mats they were there.
