Re: Looking for a little advice about Folsom
I have a small inexpensive fish finder on my jet boat I used primarily for knowing the depth in the Sac river. About how much do you have to spend for a sensitive fishfinder that allows one to see the line, bait, fish, etc? Suggestions for brand, model are appreciated.

Curado 300 gear ratio
I am getting ready to buy a Curado 300 that will do dual duty....swim baits for black bass and casting lures for stripers. I understand many like the slower retrieve reels for swimbaits. Would a the lower geared reel be ok for stripers? The reel is available in 4.7:1 or 6.6:1 ratios

Looking for a little advice about Folsom
I live only 15 minutes from the Granite Bay boat launch at Folsom lake. Due to Folsom's reputation as a tough lake and our poor track record there my son refuses to fish it. He feels it makes more sense to drive the extra hour each way to Berryessa and that is understandable. OTOH given Folsom's clo...

Is this a good choice for a swimbait rod?
I have been fishing more lately and like the idea of throwing medium sized (1-3 ounce) swimbaits for both bass and stripers. I have my eye on a 7'9" Heavy 1-4 ounce rod from Bass Pro called the Johnny Morris Carbonlite 2.0. It sells for $119.00 which is on the upper end of my budget. I plan on ...

Re: Power head rebuild
I don't believe you will be able to find anyone to rebuild an older motor. I have done a number of them and it is so time consuming that a shop can't make any money doing it. I have rebuilt a large variety of motors....small and large and without a doubt a marine motor is the most time consuming. Yo...
