Re: Making swimbaits?
Basswood can be found at Michaels crafts and is good for carving baits and it sinks. There is a lot of good info on "thewired angler.com" about making baits. Good luck.

Re: Whatever happen to common courtesy?
I think you guys hit it on the head as far as the parents setting the example. I know this isn't fishing related but my wife and I took our 2 year old do Disneyland 3 weeks ago. I was amazed at how many times we were standing in line to see Mickey,Goofy,Donald, etc. and some parent would try to slide...

My family and I have been praying for her to come home safe. Very heartbreaking news.
Words cannot describe what I would like to do to the person responsible for this!
Rest in peace baby girl.

I would guess between 12 and 14#s. My best is 13.9 and your fish looks to be in that range from what I can guess from the pics.
Awesome Fish!!!
You did the right thing on the release too. Way to go!!!
Next time you catch her have a scale ready!!Lol.

Re: ANYONE HAVE A "CRYSTAL BALL" FOR CLEAR LAKE?
I caught a lot of males in 5 feet and less and a 9.2 in about 10 feet 2 nights ago. I think the males are starting to move in to make beds. Of course the weather will play a part. If some storms come through it will delay the spawn if the temp. drops. I would guess that there will be some bedfish le...

Re: Fishing license?
I wouldn't mind the 40 something dollars if I someone checked for my license once in a while. Fished Clearlake, Oroville,Collins,Pardee,Amador,Feather River and numerous other lakes last year and was never once asked by a warden for my license. I hate knowing that there are a whole lot of people out...

I think Robert hit it on the head here. Unfortunately you have to deal with slobs on a daily basis but you would expect a little more from a fellow bass fisherman.

Re: Launching at Oroville by myself
Was up there the other day and like Bill said dirt launch and no dock so have a long rope handy. I launched with 2 wheel drive the ramp was in pretty good shape. I think you could do it without too much trouble though.

The spillway. Temp. gravel launch with no dock. Not sure if you need 4 wheel drive to get the boat in now. about a month ago you didn't.

Anyone know if the launch at the dam is still open. Do you need 4 wheel drive to launch? Hate to drive up there without knowing. Thanks for any info.

I hope my question didn't sound like I was questioning the weight. I was just curious where it was weighed in case I ever needed a fish weighed in Oroville. I guess I should worry about catching one first. Lol. Once again AWESOME fish!

Re: Condition of Spillway Ramp at Oroville
I launched my 14 foot flatbottom last night without 4 wheel drive. The ramp is fairly steep and I slipped the tires a little but not much problem. May be a little tougher with a bigger boat? The sign at top of ramp say 4 wheel drive recommended. Didn't happen to see any rangers. Launch was free waho...

Anyone know if the spillway launch is free right now? Sounds like it should be for the poor conditions but I was just wondering if anyone knows for sure? Thanks

Re: Clear Lake, best swimbaits to bring?
Caught a pretty good one there Monday on the Tru Tungsten Trout. I adjusted it to a slow fall and caught a 7.2 off a rockpile.
Great bait but Ive used it twice and the paint is falling off already. Anybody else have this problem?

Re: Reminds me of a nice little story...
I have a kind of funny story relating to this. About 2 years ago I come out of my house at about 3:30 in the morning on my way to work. As I reach the end of my driveway I turn the corner and see someone trying to get in my passenger door. I was froze in my tracks as my mind starts racing and I star...
