In order to set the hook, there are two main locations that I look for on natural lakes and/or reservoir systems. Areas that have a weed to rock transition is my primary target for largemouth. For big bronzebacks, I focus on deep, cool water situated on an outside bend where the channel swings up next to the bank. #TBT

Maryland Striped Bass Juvenile Index on Chesapeake is Eighth Highest on Record
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced today that the 2015 striped bass juvenile index is the eighth highest on record. The survey, a measure of spawning success, found an average of 24.2 juvenile fish per sample, approximately double the long-term average of 11.9.

Three Cited in Louisiana For Over-Limit Red Drum
The agent cited Donisote Santos, 53, of Chalmette, Jose Goronci, 43, of Metairie, and Jose DiSalva, 49, of Kenner, for taking over the limit of red drum and taking over the limit of red drum in excess of 27 inches. DiSalva was also cited for not possessing basic or saltwater fishing licenses.

ABA 2016 TEAM TOURNAMENT FORMAT CHANGE
American Bass has been supporting West Coast bass anglers since 1983!!! We are the oldest organization supporting Team Tournaments in the West. There have been a lot of changes over the years with anglers wanting the entry fees raised for a chance to win more money, and the paybacks deeper so that more teams would get a check, etc. In 2016 will are lowering our basic entry fee. This change is designed to make our events more affordable to all anglers. We are excited and proud to announce these improvements.

Artificials Only: Dan's Delta Striper Series
Dan’s Delta Outdoors Striper series is a catch-and-release tournament. Qualifying fish are not required to be brought to a weigh station. Prizes are awarded based on the length of the fish, which is to be submitted via a photograph taken on the boat with the supplied ruler (see specific rules and instructions that follow). The tournament is designed as catch-and-release to protect and preserve Striped Bass. Participants may certainly keep their catch for personal consumption under DFG Rules if wanted.
