The recreational Dungeness crab season is scheduled to open statewide on Saturday, Nov. 5 – with a health warning in place for crabs caught north of Point Reyes (Marin County).

Nimbus Hatchery Fish Ladder to Open
The salmon ladder at Nimbus Hatchery in Rancho Cordova will open Wednesday, Nov. 2, signaling the start of the spawning season on the American River. California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) hatchery workers will open the ladder gates at 10:45 a.m. Hatchery employees may take more than a half-million eggs during the first week of operation alone in an effort to ensure the successful spawning of the returning fall run Chinook salmon.

Roumbanis Keeps Rambling On In First At Central Open
Fred Roumbanis of London, Ark., took the lead on Day 2 of the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Central Open #3 held on the Atchafalaya Basin out of Morgan City, La. Roumbanis brought 16 pounds, 6 ounces to the scales at Friday's weigh-in.

5th Annual WON Bass California Open at Clear lake 2017 Dates Announced!
The 2017 WON BASS season is rapidly approaching, and as always we look forward to our 2 major Opens. The 5th Annual California Open at Clear Lake is scheduled for May 24th through the 26th. The event will be held out of Konocti Vista Casino. Make sure to get signed up early to qualify for this years early bird prizes by February 17th, 2017 to qualify.

B.A.S.S. Central Opens Safe to Return to Atchafalaya Basin
The Atchafalaya Basin was scheduled to host the first event of the Central Opens back in February, but heavy rains, major flooding and unsafe navigational waters in the basin caused the tournament to be postponed until Oct. 27-29. High water levels in the basin remained throughout the spring and summer, but the tournament waters are in “good shape” now, according to Bassmaster Elite Series pro Cliff Crochet.

Registration Dates Set For 2017 Bassmaster Opens
Bass anglers hoping for a spot in the 2017 Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens tournaments will soon be able to apply, B.A.S.S. announced today. Registration opens for members of the B.A.S.S. Nation and Lifetime members of B.A.S.S. beginning on November 8.
