The first stop in the California Division of the Wild West Bass Trail (WWBT) brought over 250 anglers to the Super Clean Showdown on Lake Shasta this weekend, paying out in excess of $138,000 in cash.A single lake point with a gold mine of bass turned into a tournament total of 23.71, a $19,500 payout and the honor of the first-ever NorCal champion for Zachary Elrite.

Shasta County Hatchery Reopens
The Crystal Lake Hatchery in eastern Shasta County reopened to the public Thursday after being closed due to a major environmental restoration in nearby Rock Creek.

Baker and Kenyon runaway victors at Wild West Bass Trail Shasta Teams
The Wild West Bass Trail (WWBT) welcomed 110 boats to Lake Shasta on Feb. 27 for its second circuit stop of the California Teams division. Partners Sage Baker, of Shasta Lake and Jon Kenyon of Redding, Calif. bested the field with a seven-fish limit for 28.65, leaving their nearest competitors trailing by 9 lbs.

Double G Wins FLW Series Opener at Shasta
Greg Gutierrez of Red Bluff, California, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 13 pounds, 5 ounces Saturday to win the Costa FLW Series Western Division opener on Lake Shasta presented by Minn Kota with a three-day total of 15 bass weighing 40 pounds, 7 ounces. For his win, Gutierrez earned $36,376.

Lake Shasta Set to Host FLW Series Opener
The Costa FLW Series is headed to Lake Shasta Feb. 18-20 for a tournament presented by Minn Kota when as many as 300 pros and co-anglers will take to the water for the first stop of 2016 in the Western Division.
