Sportfishing Industry Leaders Bring Policy Priorities to Washington D.C.
During its spring meeting, the American Sportfishing Association’s (ASA) Government Affairs Committee discussed a variety of pressing policy issues that impact the recreational fishing industry. Over the course of the two-day meeting held March 14-15, the committee held briefings with three federal agencies, hosted a panel of key Congressional staff and met with more than two dozen Congressional offices.

Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act Advances to Senate Floor
Alexandria, VA – The sportfishing industry applauds the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee for advancing the Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act of 2015. Sportfishing’s Trade Show Receives National Award from Top Trade Show Industry Group

New California Proposition 65 Threat Against The Sportfishing Industry
On December 20, 2014, the Proposition 65 warning requirement for DINP exposures in California became effective. DINP, diisononyl phthalate, is a commonly used plasticizer. Beginning the next day, "private enforcers" begin issuing notices of intent to sue to companies whose products contained DINP.
