    Westernbass Magazine, Winter 2019

Hi Anglers! Here we are ready to kick off another year of fishing. Every time I write this letter to the WesternBass. com Magazine readers, it amazes me how the time flies. The rain is forecasted for us soon and hopefully, it will fill the lakes for springtime fishing that we are looking forward to. As I wrap this greeting up, I would like to ask you to support the advertisers that keep this magazine and site available for you. WesternBass couldn’t do it without them. We appreciate them for allowing us to keep the bass fishing info coming to you and we appreciate your support of us and of our sponsors. In closing, I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I send my best wishes to those that are dealing with the devastation that the California fires have caused. It has been a rough year(s) for many in our state. Best wishes to all and hope you have a great fishing year! Wayne

    Westernbass Magazine, Fall 2018

Hi All, I’ve said it many times; however, it is worth repeating... I cannot believe how fast the seasons fly by and fall and TOC time is once again upon us. I look forward to watching the championships play out and the new victors take their stage. With many of the schedules for the circuits already announced, it is exciting to again think of the events that will take place, especially with the Bassmaster Elite Series returning for a western swing. Will our hometown guys claim the trophies, or will a traveler take them home? I hope all of our readers in the fires areas a safe and speedy recovery back to your homes and business’s its just been a crazy year for these catastrophes and I know we just want to get them behind us! As I close, I want to thank all of the readers that support WesternBass.com Magazine and the WesternBass.com website as well as all the readers that support our sponsors. Without them, none of this would be possible as a free source of bass fishing fun, info and camaraderie for all of us! Wayne

Smallmouth as a species love to chase baits. That makes swimbaits perfect for chasing bronzebacks, especially during the spring before they start to spawn. Since the fall is another primetime for smallmouth, I work backwards from the last place I catch them in the fall and make sure I select the right bait when I prepare for spring smallmouth.

    Westernbass Magazine, Spring 2016

I am certainly ready for a new season of bassin’ and hope you are too. I’ve been excited to kick off the year with coverage of the International Sports Shows in Sacramento and Scottsdale as well as the Fred Hall show. Stay tuned for upcoming tank seminars on WesternBassTV, if you missed the shows. This year, WesternBass was excited to bring site users video clips from our western anglers at the Bassmaster Classic. I will be watching and cheering them on throughout the year. I would like to congratulate Lowrance pro Edwin Evers for his outstanding win at Grand Lake for the Classic championship – 29 pounds! Wow! I would to like remind anglers that WesternBass offers many features on the site to make tournament planning easy. Under the Interactive tab, we have the Tournament Calendar and Special Events with Digital Guides for all of the Wild West Bass Trail events. Under the Delta tab, you will find moon phases, weather, water temps and tide charts to help plan a fun and productive day on the tidal water. Lastly, I want to thank all of you for your support of the site and the magazine. It is because of you and our sponsors that WesternBass is the place where fishermen talk. Wayne
