Cooks Order Up a Second Bass Cat Win
Roger Cook and his son Corey claimed first prize at the third annual Bass Cat National Team Championship, presented by Mercury Marine, with 14 bass for 26.90 pounds over two days, four sessions of fishing and three different lakes – Taneycomo, Bull Shoals (twice) and Norfork. For their efforts, the pair was awarded an all-expenses paid trip to Lake Picachos in Mexico.

Texas Team Rides Finesse to Day One BCB Lead
At the conclusion of the first day of competition in the 2015 Bass Cat National Team Championship, presented by Mercury Marine, the Texas team of Lee Morris and Josh Priest sit atop the leaderboard, with dual limits from Lake Taneycomo and Bull Shoals that totaled 14.42 pounds. That puts them ahead of their nearest competitors, the father-son team of Roger and Cory Cook, by a margin of 3.35 pounds.

Third Annual BCB Championship Starts Today
Monday marks the beginning of the third annual, two-day Bass Cat National Team Championship, presented by Mercury Marine, a no-entry, by invitation only tournament put on by Bass Cat’s Rick Pierce and other members of the “BCB Family.” Nine teams have qualified via an equal number of regional events, and Pierce intends to put their analytical and physical fishing skills to the test, with a format that differs from those presented in 2013 and 2014. Whichever team executes the best will win an all-expenses paid trip to Lake Picachos, Mexico.

Paul Mueller of Naugatuck, Conn., won the Old Milwaukee B.A.S.S. Nation Championship last year on the Ouachita River with 32 pounds, 15 ounces. He’ll be back this year to defend his title on the same water as the championship returns to the river Nov. 5-

The Alabama Bass Trail will appear on network television next year when its Tournament Series airs on Fox Sports Southeast. Thirteen episodes and 65 re-airs will be televised on Sunday mornings.

Lenz Named Collegiate Tour Angler of the Year
This week Raymarine pro ambassador Dawson Lenz earned college fishing's highest honor by being named the FishLife Collegiate Series Angler of the Year. Lenz, a senior captain at the University of North Alabama, earned the honor after using Raymarine's a97 and a98 to help lead the Lions' Bass Fishing club team to first place in FishLife's Collegiate Tour points title.
