Was up at the lake yesterday and found out that they are not going to charge the $30 washdown fee that was supposed to begin on May 1st. It will cost $13 for a boat and $8 for a car to fish the lake. Everything else is still the same, boat inspection and washdown before launching. As for the fishing...
Re: Casitas
Fished Friday and Saturday and the bit is pretty tough. There is shad everywhere, every point every cove was filled with shad. Got a few on hologram shad robo up to 6lbs. Was able to net some shad and it was pretty much wide open on the live bait. Good luck up there.

Re: Just got word that Casitas is going to be opening
Thanks to everyone who put in the time to get the casitas board to change their mind and at least allow some private boats on the lake. Too bad it will only benefit a small amount of private boaters, but like everyone else has said at least it is a start. I like the idea of all lakes getting on a co...

Kaweah, Pine Flat or Success
I am going to be in the Visialia area this coming weekend and have not fished any lakes in the area. I was wondering which of these three lakes would you guys go to fish. I just saw the results from the tournament at Success so it looks like the swimbait bite is on there, but what about Kaweah and P...

So I have two questions. Is the lake closed as today? What are they doing about everyone that has yearly passes, are they issuing refunds? Thanks again for all that spoke and fought for our lake.

I will be a first timer to Clear lake this April and I was wondering where is the best place to stay (hotel, campground) where I can keep my boat and charge it as I plan on fishing for at least 3 days. Also if anyone is willing to give info on spots to fish on the lake this time of year, any info wo...

Re: Boats at Casitas
Fished Casitas Monday morning. Was scared with everything happening over the weekend that they might deny me. I had everything as clean as I could get it. Did not have the ranger check me but one of the regular workers. He checked some compartments, bilge, livewell all in all a quick check and he le...

Where to find a needle
Trying to find a needle so that i can poke my deep caught fish and release them to bite another day. I've tried a couple of veternarians but they just look at me funny. Anyone have any other ideas where I can get a needle. Thanks.
