Re: Releaser or Keeper? Which are you?

The concept of "if I let it grow it will get bigger" is untrue, sort of. Every system is different, and "one size doesnt fit all". The biggest problem facing warmwater fisheries managers and quality fisheries these days across the country is stunted populations. This is the direc...

Re: California officials threatened with jail byTrump admin over Shasta (McCLoud river project)

Technically Ash the reintroduced fish would not be part of the protected population, and I believe that humans would be allowed to catch and eat them as well. I suppose the only benefit to these reintroduction's above a migration barrier is to preserve the gene pool for future management efforts. Re...

Re: California officials threatened with jail byTrump admin over Shasta (McCLoud river project)

Mark:

The Sacramento River Winter-run Chinook Salmon ESU is anadromous. Fish reintroduced above Shasta dam, or any dam for that matter, would not contribute to the anadromous population. So Im just wondering how this reintroduction would contribute to the population and help save the ESU?

Thanks Edd. I was staring at that option hard, but thought if I turned it off then the units would not share waypoints, which I need them to do. I remember this now, its completely not intuitive and makes no sense, but its what needs to be done. Ill do this tomorrow to confirm thats what it was.

Re: Caught a lake Mclure Giant Largemouth.

Congrats! And BTW, you are holding your fish just fine. Holding it vertically like you are is fine, the trouble starts when you start curling your hand under the jaw and causing the bass's body to become more horizontal. Holding with two hands isnt a good idea because you may remove some of the slim...

Clear lake's water quality problems are MUCH more complex and bigger than spraying weeds. The aquatic macrophytes being sprayed are going to die off eventually at some point regardless making a fish kill an annual possibility even if spraying didn't occur.
