Make sure you check the sellers rating before you buy them. I bought a couple from reputable sellers and they were great paint jobs. Put my own hooks on them, but haven't used them yet.

Re: Fishing the Delta

There's no way you can fish through the stringy stuff. I fish outside the weedline or find breaks in the stuff. You can also try fishing over the top with a buzz bait or frog. At high tide, where you may have a little water space over the top, I would use a chatterbait, spinnerbait, or a top water.

All of the ones that I bought were shipped in 3 inch plastic piping that you can buy at any hardware store. Some of them just taped the ends while others used caps that you can buy. When it came to packing the rods, all of them put sponge like material at both ends so that the rod did not move and s...

Re: Does anyone ever get good fishing equipment deals on EBA

I've bought a lot of fishing stuff off eBay. Bought 3 or 4 rods and tons of lures. Best buy was a brand new Powell rod for $50 that retailed for $190 (my max was $100 but no one else bid on the rod).

Never had any problems. You never know when you'll get a bargain.

In the Delta, watch out not only for floating timber, but floating derelict boats. I'm surprised the Coast Guard hasn't pulled them out of the water or got the owner to get them out of the water.

A few years ago, I saw a dead cow floating down the Sacramento River.
