There is a Courtyard by Marriot right on March and Brookside road also. Good Place and safe. You can stay right at River Point if you have a travel trailer or motorhome.

Settle down big guy, I never said it was the best way. Just said it works for them. And I don't see you up there. If you watched, the fish did run a couple times when he was hand lining them and he still got them in. Besides like Doug mentioned, if you reel her up to the top and she thrashes around...

So I have a New Curado 200 E7 on my current CB rod but I'm wondering if the 7.0:1 is the optimal reel gear ratio. Is there advantages to going with a lower ratio on a CB rod?

Delta fishing is fun because at any given time or any given cast you could hook a fish of a lifetime. I say hook because hookin one and landin one are two totally different things. High tide = inside the weed lines between tules (or rocks) and the weeds in water with access to deeper water (10ft+)

I use ths rod. I can walk the frog fine but it does seem a bit stiff. I have read other posts on this rod and it seems that a lot of folks don't like this rod for frog fishin. I am interested to see some other responses to this post.

I launch all the time solo....Easy....WITH MINE I detach everything and back down until I see the *** just float and then another foot back and put in park and walk back and get in and go...even better if ya angle towards the dock just a little. Great advice also, I'm familiar with the dissimilar metal issue. I will go with SS for the plate. That will be stronger also. Thanks Kopper. I just need to figure out how to get to the back side of where the nuts and plate will go. I don't want to pull back the carpeting until I know what I'm doing.

I would avoid Wal Mart batteries since they generally don't last longer then a couple years. I would go with Costco batteries over the Wal ...

You're right it might have been the haze.
I bought them from Tim at Fishermans Whorehouse in Manteca. I think they call them P&E's. I gave them $95 a piece, they've been great so far.

Shame and embarassement, why you gotta rub it in? Those live wells are lonely lately. I met a great guy in 14 mile slough on Sat that borrowed my scale to weigh a donkey. If you can install two cieling fans over your boat in the garage, one on the front deck one on the back. When you get home turn on the fans and let them blow down on the boat. Just be careful when getting into the boat to open up the lockers that the fans are OFF> Trust me on that!! I have one over...

Another vote for Bob's, hands down the best.
I've eaten at Orrwood and it was just OK.
Union Point is good also.
