Re: Need New Compressor

I replaced mine last year. It was pretty straight forward. Just make sure you label all your hoses. I also took about ten pictures with my digital camera at different angles. Capital City Marine matched an online price I recieved. I don't THINK I paid over $800 for the part. Here the steps I took to...

Re: Lovely knocking sound coming from my Opti?-FIXED

I've got a question, maybe one of you have experienced this. My partner has a Merc 200 Black max. When we put the boat in gear, and start to idle, there is a loud clunk noise. It only does it in foward, and it does not do it all of the time. He says more often when I am in the boat with him. 190 mo...

You might want to try one of these on board chargers:

I personally use the stealth but have heard good things about both of these.

Wont shift into gear right. Lots of clicking and grinding when going into forward. Reverse is always fine. Does anyone know how to diagnose and fix. Have I caused any damage. When it does go into gear it runs great. Thanks Yeah, mine was doing the same thing but going into reverse instead of forwar...

Re: any input on DC (alternator) trolling battery charger?

I've had my stealth for 4 years without any trouble. I only run two batteries in my boat and can be on troller all day without any loss of power with the stealth battery charger. You should have no problems with your troller since you probably run 2 to 3 batteries for your trolling motor. The stealt...

Re: One thing to remember

The XB-21 (http://www.allisonboats.com/bass_boats/ ... o_2005.php) is a fishing first and speed second as compared to there other boats.
It is rated for a max of 225 hp and will still do 85 - 87 gps.

Now the XB-2002 is speed first and fishing second boat followed by the XB-2003.

Re: Allison bass boats?

Just like buying new a car, I would go test drive or ride in as many boats on your list as you can. You will find the one that suits your needs based on how you prioritize your requirements for a bassboat (speed, layout, rough water handling, deck space, etc...in no particular order)

Good Luck!

Re: Allison bass boats?

They are fast in the water, ride really well, but do wave)for a better word) slightly side to side (at speed) due to the deep v hull and all. The seating is in line, in that the driver is in front and the non-boater is sitting right behind him. Feels funny at first, but you get used to it. All and ...

Re: Allison bass boats?

brambo0311, I've owned my Allison for about 3 years. It is a XB-2003 w/200xs and will run 88-90 gps solo and 81 - 84 gps loaded to fish. Allison's are some the fastest best handling boats on the market. In fact, I won the Inland Marine Bassboat Shootout this year. I placed first in both the radar ru...

Re: Anyone Else Had The Land Lubber Line In Their Prop ?

I'm glad everything worked out for you. If you haven't pulled your prop off yet, I would just to make sure there isn't any line wrapped around the prop shaft. The line could tear into your lower unit seals and cause a leak.

There has to be a way othen then going to a dealer to find out how many hours are on an engine? Some type of scan tool or something? How does the dealer check the hours? I know Mercury Marine sells a tool called the "DDT" or Digital Diagnostic Tool which plugs into the motors ECU. It is v...

Before you have any prop work done done. Please ask them what there rework policy is on there work. I've had some props come back all nice and polished but ran 2 to 3 mph slower on top end due to much cupping on the tips. I subsequently sent the prop back and had it reworked for free to get it perfe...
