Fishing Clear Lake this Week | Updates from the Lake

As of this morning the lake is at 7.53 Rumsey, with “full pool” being 7.56 we are there, and the lake will most likely see 8.0 Rumsey by weeks end. Water temps are in the low to mid 50’s. So, yes, as most have heard, Clear Lake has been at its finest since the first week in February. No, the rumors of 40 lb bags were not rumors. Trust me, I’ve seen more than one guide service put the hurt on em’ to that tune.

Day in the Life: California Fishing Day 4 VLOG (NEW PB BASS!!!) #LTB

On Day 4 of my trip to California I head to Clear Lake in search of some giant bass to break my pb (6.9lbs). After we launched the boat we met up with local big bass MACHINE Paul Bailey, who guides on the lake daily. Once I met up with Paul I hopped in his boat and he gave me the run down on fishing BIG 8 inch Huddleston swimbaits. About 10 minutes into fishing I hooked into the biggest bass of my life! I had an absolute blast fishing in California for 4 days and I accomplish my goal of catching the biggest bass of my life! HUGE thanks to Team LTB and Paul Bailey for putting me on some GIANT bass while I was there

I hope so, because on Clear Lake, this year, anything is possible, according to Matt Allen of Tactical Bassin’. “These fish are healthier, hungrier [and happier] this year,” Matt says with an uplifting tone. It’s a different lake than this time last year and the FLW anglers will be facing different, but probably better conditions.
