Stripers and bass bite both OK but ya gotta Slow down with the cold temperatures. It’s no secret what a little fall weather can do. Ripbaits are great options while small swim baits and swim jigs get the mention. We found plenty of Stripers and Black Bass with Hair Jigs, Swim Baits, like the BIG 6thSense Hollow Bodies getting grabbed. Lot of Stripers in main River and Mildred areas.

More Stripes are in the area as cold temperatures return more in the Walnut Grove area as the trolling bite is OK mostly small fish.. Slowed way down for Salmon still many decent Scores reported Silvertrons and K-14 getting mentioned.

Sherman Lake, Stripers and More
Striper anglers are now starting to pick up fish along the lower reaches of the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers. Lure tossers and bait anglers are both finding lots of small stripers with an occasional ten-pounder. Some of the more dedicated anglers have picked up some fish in the twenty-pound class already this year.

Anglers Encouraged to Return Striped Bass and Sturgeon Tags for Recognition and Monetary Reward
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has completed its annual sturgeon tagging program, catching and releasing nearly 400 sturgeon in Bay Area waters. Many of the tags are eligible for a reward if returned to CDFW by anglers.

Reward Offered for Return of Sturgeon Tags from California Delta
State and federal fisheries officials are asking for public assistance and offering a $20 reward for the return of each satellite tag from green sturgeon. The satellite tags, which are programmed to release from the fish after a predetermined time, are most likely to be found along the open ocean coastal portions of San Francisco and San Mateo counties, and the shores and waters of San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay, Suisun Bay and the Delta.

Sign the Petitiion to Save Delta Fishing
Fish and Game biologists have found through their studies that the Striped Bass, Largemouth Bass and Smallmouth Bass have nothing to do with the declining numbers of Salmon and Delta Smelt. They claim it is the fault of record low water flows through the delta due to diversion of nearly half the fresh water entering the delta by both the California Aqua Duct and Delta Mendota canal systems.

Man, Child and Dog Rescued near Big Break Marine, Oakley, California
The crews of Coast Guard Station Rio Vista, Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Marine Patrol unit and a maritime good Samaritan, Bodega Bell, rescued one adult, one child and a dog from an overturned vessel near Big Break Marina in Oakley Friday afternoon.

Artificials Only: Dan's Delta Striper Series
Dan’s Delta Outdoors Striper series is a catch-and-release tournament. Qualifying fish are not required to be brought to a weigh station. Prizes are awarded based on the length of the fish, which is to be submitted via a photograph taken on the boat with the supplied ruler (see specific rules and instructions that follow). The tournament is designed as catch-and-release to protect and preserve Striped Bass. Participants may certainly keep their catch for personal consumption under DFG Rules if wanted. WE ENCOURAGE Catch and release!
