Award-Winning Frogs Drive Angler Success
Hollow body topwaters are some of the most exciting and effective lures available for catching summertime bass. While profiles and designs have evolved dramatically in recent years – giving anglers baits to target a broad spectrum of fresh- and saltwater predator species – all hollow body lures trace their origin back to an unassuming amphibian: the frog.

Fishing Hollow-Body Frogs vs Soft Plastic Frogs
When fishing dense mats of vegetation, or in vast expanses of lily pads, you’ll want to use a hollow-bodied frog to properly target the bass hiding underneath these canopies. These baits are nearly impossible to snag and bass will be looking to feed upwards when buried in these mats. Also many of these areas you’ll be fishing will have dense vegetation, so you’ll need a frog that has a large profile as this will displace the matted vegetation as you work it across the top of it.

Fishing the Edge vs. the Mat
When looking at a lily pad field or a dense mat of hydrilla or milfoil, one may think that there is only one way to skin a cat (or one way to target the bass holding in that vegetation). The fact of the matter is that the location of the bass in relation to the mat alters the presentation and the gear used to catch that bass.
