2018 FLW and SAF HIGH SCHOOL FISHING SCHEDULE
FLW and The Bass Federation have prepared a full season of High School Fishing tournaments for 2018, headlined by the 2018 High School Fishing National Championship and World Finals on Pickwick Lake in Florence, Ala. As well, the schedule includes 29 Student Angler Federation (SAF) High School Fishing State Championships, 24 Bass Pro Shops FLW High School Fishing Opens, seven state high school athletic association sanctioned tournaments and three SAF High School Fishing Challenge tournaments.

VICTORY FOR SCOTT COUNTY HIGH AT FLW HIGH SCHOOL FISHING KENTUCKY OPEN ON LAKE CUMBERLAND
The Scott County High School duo of Isaac Tackett of Jenkins, Kentucky, and Chase Clark of Georgetown, Kentucky, brought a five-bass limit to the scale Saturday weighing 9 pounds, 15 ounces to win the 2017 Bass Pro Shops FLW High School Fishing Kentucky Open tournament on Lake Cumberland. The win advanced the team to the 2018 High School Fishing National championship, held June 26-30, on a fishery yet to be revealed.

High School All-American Anglers Compete With Pros On Trophy Bass Lake In Texas
When Reese Jones of Rogers, Ark., received notice that he had been selected as one of 12 members of the 2017 Bassmaster High School All-American Fishing Team presented by DICK'S Sporting Goods, he was ecstatic. Winning the honor meant he would be able to fish with a Bassmaster Elite Series pro during a special tournament in conjunction with the Toyota Bassmaster Texas Fest benefiting Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

The Oneonta High School duo of Laine Cooley of Oneonta, Alabama, and Noah Coleman of Pinson, Alabama, brought a five-bass limit to the scale Saturday weighing 12 pounds even to win the 2017 FLW High School Fishing Alabama Open tournament on Logan Martin Lake. The win advanced the team to the 2017 High School Fishing National championship, held June 27-July 1 at Pickwick Lake in Florence, Alabama.

High Water and Unsafe Conditions Prompt Lassen County Fishing Derby Postponement
Due to safety concerns over high water and unsafe conditions, the annual Susan River Youth Fishing Derby will be postponed. Sponsored by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), the 28th annual derby was scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 22 on the Susan River in Susanville, Lassen County.

The FPT’s new Gone Fishin Marine Youth Division, saw several high school/youth teams come out to enjoy the opening season fun and “represent” for their respective high schools and youth bass clubs, as the Future Pro Tour has always been about developing angler skills.
