Only got 14 fish, all in the 13 13 1/2: size, and best right at 15" no 14" range. Bite seems to sour when your really not up to fishing.

Life jacket exchanges set for TODAY to kick off Safe Boating Week
National Safe Boating Week is all about encouraging responsible boating and life jacket wear every time boaters are on the water. As we enter boating season, the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) is kicking off the initiative on May 19 by hosting life jacket exchange events throughout the state. The goal is to make sure that no one has an excuse for not wearing a life jacket — people can swap old, worn-out life jackets for a brand new one in the appropriate size.

Decent bite today, not quite killer bite but darn good. Picked up 31 fish today, but did work hard for them.

Winds tapered off about 9 am or so. Bite picked up a tad, but water still cool, 56.6 to 57.8 degrees in my travels.

Got launched at about 6:20 am, off the lake at 10 am, and to my surprise, 95% of the wood had been cleaned up and no issue at all launching, have never seen it this clean this time of year as the water comes up.

Fishing Report Lake Berryessa This Week | April 7
Saw an amazing thing that one doesn't see often. We were fishing a good spot in the early afternoon and saw a few bass close to the boat. Along comes this 4 to 6 lb smallmouth, swimming slowly about 2 feet under the surface. What a sight!

Spring is in the air, well at least for the moment. Launched from Russo’s Marina at around 3:30 in the afternoon to fish the Monday night Turkey Shoot. Simple game plan, catch fish, and hope they are bigger than the others.

Local organizers were hoping to set new records next week and had planned concerts following the afternoon weigh-ins to further entertain bass fishing fans.

Free Online Boating Courses This Week Through March 24
Next week, Mar. 18-24, is a great time to take a boating safety course. Why? It’s perfect timing just before the start of the boating and fishing season and the week-long ‘Spring Aboard’ public service campaign makes it easy for boaters to take a boating safety course. The educational effort is a partnership of the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA), government, and nonprofit partners including the BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water.
