Seth, ya its pretty amazing, I believe there are more than a couple WR's hangin out in that pool. The real crazy part is that 99% of the time I don't THINK anyone is even close ...

Re: where can I find shasta lake fish records?
I caught one March 29th that bounced around between 8.5 and 8.8 in the wind and rollers...called it at 8.7. Didnt think to have it officially weighed by DFG as I thought the lake record was 9.2. Huddbaits.com under fish of the month for a picture. I stuck the little one(5.6ish..again wind waves) the...

Re: Jig rod?
Love my Rogue MBH 706c for 1/2oz. to 1oz. For the lighter jigs my MBH 704c is AWESOME. Extremly sensitive and very light. They have great spinning rods too!!!
I have also fished with Steve Biechman's coustom rods, and they are simply amazing.

Re: Mattlures Ultimate Bluegill Series Swim Baits
I got one for Christmas, have thrown it a few times and it is SWEET. The tail(or at least the one I have) doesn't seem to wanna kick at a slow roll but at a little faster pace they look great. No fish on it yet, I have a hard time putting his 6inch trout down
Hope this helps some..

Shasta seems to still produce a decent largie now and then. There was a 12 sumthin last week, and I heard of a few over 10 last year, as well as the 8.12 I had last year. I think that there are still a few in there.

Re: More Night Fishing Questions about Bass
As far as the colors...some like white, some like black. I have heard both. BIG worms work well. Like mentioned above bulk up and add noise, as fish use their lateral line to locate baits, so sound and vibration helps. I love to throw jigs at night. My PB came on a jig in 10 feet of water at 10:30 p...

I will have to go with Bill all the way. Love to fish those worms on the darter head. I also like what he said about fishing them on the lightest dart head that the conditions are permitting. I think the smaller (1/8 or 1/16) really gives the worm the best action. Depending on the worms size of cour...

First see how far the fish are susoended off the bottom. Once you have figured this out, tie up a dropshot, with the hook suspended that far off the bottom.

I dont think a whole lotta guys throw em out here, there are tons of trout, but there are not tons of trout eating bass, seems like more of a clear lake bait. If you kept throwin it, who knows it might pay off, big bait = big fish right

Bought a ranger with a lms480. I fish shasta most of the time and have a chip for the lake. i have noticed that when watching the GPS the trail actually goes off the lake and up onto the land! Which tells me that something is off.

I am going to buy a few of the old curados as they go on sale to make room for the new ones. With some tuning done to them they performe close to as well as the (SF) curado.
