Re: Discovery Bay tomorrow....Need some advice.
Two areas to try early are on the back side (non-marina side) on Indian Slough. To get there just follow it in from Orwood Marina and stay to the right. Two prime spots on this side are the 2nd or 3rd bay on your left. You will know you have the right one once you get in there. The water goes from 1...

Yes on the Delta in areas after the spawn with a lot of fry. The smaller profile mimics the little guys pretty well.

I prefer the braid with trout in lakes, ponds, etc. however stick with mono all the way in the high country streams.
It may be more of a mental thing, but I just cant stick with braid in the streams and always seem to go back to mono.

Petey Pete has it pretty well dialed in. As Barrack and others do, remove the middle hook, it will save you a lot of headaches and is a bit of overkill anyways. Change the hooks and rings out to the heaviest/largest you can get away with. I personally run The Owner 4X split rings 1-2 sizes up from w...

With the brackish water, just hose it down and flush out your motor once you get back to the house. I fish it all the time and have never personally had any issues, but I believe someone posted recently that they got a mark/stain on their hull which could not be removed after letting the boat sit fo...

Best bet will be out of Russo's or Big Break. Closest from Don Pedro will be either Mossdale near the I-5/120 interchange which will give you limited options without a long run or Ladd's out of Stockton on Marhc Lane. Ladd's will put you 20 minutes or so from Franks Tract and 30+ from Big Break, She...

You would have to find a private seller via Ebay or something similar. They do however run about $250.00 which is a pretty good chunk of change to have a striper beat the hell out of. I would think you are better off with a Punker or something similar, larger bait, likely larger fish and far less di...

Take a look for flats close to deeper water, there are many of these in the Middle/Old River areas. Widow Lake where the water rushes in usually holds fish when the tide is running in or out. Run some of the tule islands going down Sandmound Slough, then of course the more common places, Sherman Lak...

NADA.com will be a good place to dial in the pricing. They have options for most everything you would need. For the items that you cannot account for, I would take about 50% of their new value and go from there.

I brought one in from Texas a couple years back and had to take to the Highway Patrol office for them to verify serial numbers, etc. If I remember correctly, I had the option to bring the trailer to DMV, but the area was too tight. Beyond that it is pretty straight forward.

I've used em on the Delta with decent success, but there are a heck of a lot better options for the same type of bait. The one that used to really tear em up I can't remember the name of. It was a tubelike bait that when you pulled back on your rod and let the slack go, the lure would shoot forward....
