Vince Borges has put me on my two biggest fish to date. One was a 8.5 and another was a 7.5. On top of that, he has awesome equipment on his boat.

Re: Which is better, Fred Hall or ISE???
Having worked both, I can tell you that the Fred Hall show is much more saltwater oriented. For the ISE, it is not only focused on fishing but hunting also. The ISE's fishing section has freshwater and saltwater fishing with probably more emphasis on freshwater. I know that they have quite a few fly...

Re: Help Fishing with Frogs
Ish's Phat Frog is awesome! In all of my whole experience fishing the frog (ONE TIME!), I was told one thing. Whatever you do, keep that tip up and don't let the fish turn. If you need to go get the fish in the junk, so be it. You might need to net up all the weeds and grass along with the fish once...

Tackle Warehouse and BTD are good. Don't forget about HookedUpTackle.com. They are relatively new but have a lot of SKUs and real-time inventory as well.

Re: Top Water Yet?
Here's Vince's full report on the topwater bite. http://vinceborgesoutdoors.com/ Thanks Vince for taking me out again! I had a blast. The one that got away is still haunting me. I think it would've been my personal best but a 7 lb frog fish is certainly nothing to laugh at. What a first frog fish! I...

Sam's Club in El Monte has them. You do need a Sam's Club Membership. I'm assuming if my local Sam's Club has them, one near you probably has them too.

Re: double uni knot vs. albright
I use to tie the uni to uni. I've since switched to the albright. The albright is much better in my opinion. As mentioned before, it has a smaller profile. I also believe that it is a stronger knot. The uni to uni cuts into itself making it inherently weak.

Re: Don't buy the resold HDS-5s quite yet!
At the Rancho store, there was no pushing and shoving of any kind. In fact, people in line were mostly friendly and just trading stories. I probably would never do it again but it was fun and I was able to get a good fishfinder for a fantastic price. I actually remarked to the person next to me how ...

Re: IT COUNTS!
Why should livebait be banned? Just because that is not the way that you catch bass? Most of us caught our first fish on some sort of live bait or cut bait. Just because people are not catching bass the same way that you are catching it does not mean that it is not a legit way of catching a fish. I ...

It might be expensive for a lure but HookedUpTackle's prices are in line with everybody else. I believe it is MSRP. Check out these ebay auctions. They are the same price as HookedUpTackle's. http://cgi.ebay.com/LUCKY-CRAFT-Spin-Board-70H---Chartreuse-Shad_W0QQitemZ370201030545QQcmdZViewItem http://...

Re: What does your sponsor(s) do for you?
There are a few different levels of sponsorship. Pro-level: What does the angler get? - "Free Tackle" - Possibly tourney entry fees What does the company expect? - Work shows and events - Promote product by brand placement on jerseys, stickers on boats and cars. If it is a wrap, the compan...
