I agree with Brent running the trough's and "surfing" them if possible. I think it takes a lot more skill and steering to do this this method safely, but if the swells are consistant enough i will run the trough's faster and dryer without a sore neck. Even then you will always catch one th...

I just use a scent like bang or gulp to mask whatever finger funk i may have, and i hardly do that. Think about it.... a live shad or craw fish doesnt really smell fishy... somewhat aquatic but not rotten clam.

Re: Jig skirts -- silicon vs. rubber
I like living rubber fine flat for flippn jigs because it flares on the fall better.
I actually like silicone on the smaller footballs because it lays flatter allowing you to trim even with the hook. Id love to find a source for that SR-40 material keitec uses... think its a pvc base.

no argument here, you are the reel guru . I switched to am drags for my older reels for that very reason.... you ask guys that use the older scorpions and 100 curados and #1 issue is the "lightswitch" like drag. what would be your solution to this if am drags are garbage?

One of the places I used to bass fish as a kid, lots of good memories and some quality fish out of there.
