I don't have a wild fear for them, and they are a vital part of the big picture! Think about how many flies, mosquitoes, and gnats would be driving you NUTS on your favorite body of water without them! And the mosquito is the MOST DANGEROUS ANIMAL ON THE PLANET! I started a huge thread, about brown spiders. They are not here, an entomoligist (Bug genious) came on and said they are not in this part of Ca. I almost spelled "enemologist"! :D It is common to confuse a common brown spider with a dangerous one. I think they have a white fiddle on the ba...

Rich and Cooch really hit the nail on the head. Reading what Rich wrote was weird, it was like our psychic link was activated again. Had something happen like that before. Fishing a flip jig dragged on the mud bottom. Lots of bites, and misses. Tried to let them eat the bait, didn't work either. I don't think the fish were striking out of scent and then not liking the taste and spitting. I don't think the fish hit so much on scent vs. action, or the way the baits move. Color might be third, bait retention can be related to texture or flavor. Fish strike lures based on attractive qualities, ...

Big tides will be early on the Delta, unfortunately the releases coincided with the lunar phase. There should be many logs, and debris about.
