Westernbass Magazine, Fall 2015
It’s that time again for the bass’ fall feed up. What a fun time of year for anglers. It is no wonder why so many of the championship events are held in the fall. We look forward to the return of the FLW Rayovac circuit to Clear Lake in mid-October as well as the BBT, ABA and CTT TOC’s that are also scheduled on Clear Lake. The River2Sea Open will be a can’t-miss event with $15,000 guaranteed to the top-5 and a random draw for all participating teams for a brand new Jeep Liberty. Anglers can also compete in a new fall striper series brought to us by Dan’s Delta Outdoors. The season is the culmination of the achievements of several western pros - Roy Hawk with his U.S. Open championship as well as his son Sunny Hawk’s co angler win in this year’s Forrest Wood Cup, Aaron Martens with a dominating season and AOY title in the Bassmaster Elite Series, Brent Ehrler leading the points race in the Elite Rookie of the year and so much more. Congratulations to all! Amidst the celebration of accomplishments, this year many of our western anglers face challenges due to wildfires. We would like to encourage support of the BBT and Tracy Bass as they collect donations for those in need. Thank you to these and the other organizations for their efforts!
