Many of you who did tournaments may member Duane. His big smile was almost as memorable as his love, Victoria. Like most of us he was always so close to that school of big fish. He dropped out of site in recent years as ALS trapped him within a failing body. While his passing is likely a blessing to...

This was an almost new lower unit when the power head blew. Kept it as a spare. It is in great shape. Off a 2005 225 HO but they fit many models. Call if interested.

Zack - Senko Hook Question?
Your hooks worked well and you were right, they snag for less than I would have expected. Who in Nor-Cal has them in stock and are there different sizes? I may want to play with them as a stinger for hollow body swim baits.

Use a wet white towel to cover the tops of your live wells. The last few trips I have made the fishing has been pretty tough for Shasta. The craws are starting to move up and there are fish feeding on them a little better so the jig bite is improving. Dom,
Any good set of glasses has coated lenses. The coatings are what scratch, not the lens material. No matter what you wear I would be very careful about dipping them in the lake and wiping them off with a dirty shirt, it is just a bad practice that will lead to more damaged glasses.

In August you will probably live in the lake, it is usually quite hot. Get a fire permit from the forrest service so you can legally have a camp fire. Mac,
That is why I never pre-fish with a backseater other than a couple I know very well. While it can help the boater, you have more to loose than to gain. The boater you draw should have a plan. You show up on the boat and help him execute his plan.

A 3/4 or 1oz head gets down pretty quick. I fish a 3/4oz a lot down to 100+ feet. A weed guard is a bad idea for deep jigging. The long line length take away a lot of the power of the hookset and causes you to miss fish with the weed guard. Also the heavier the jig the heavier the weedguard need to ...

Although tieing to a private dock is trespassing, which could be a ticketable offence and if ticketed could lead to a DQ. The odds are pretty slim though. It is common to anchor or tie up when fihing bed fish. In most circuits if your anchored and your TM is up you own 25 yards or so around your boat.
